  • No! We offer workshops and mentoring year-round and we are always accepting mentee registrations. 

    We accept volunteer applications throughout the year as well. However, we only have a handful of volunteer training sessions, so if you apply after the last session of the season, you will have to wait until the next series of trainings to be able to begin volunteering.

  • Yes! WriteGirl is absolutely free. Our workshops are always free for WriteGirl members and we provide all of the necessary materials. 

  • Yes! WriteGirl members are anyone who identifies as woman, girl, gender-expansive, trans, nonbinary or femme – no matter where a teen is on their journey and exploration of personal identity, all are welcome here.

  • WriteGirl is open to girls and gender-expansive teens ages 13 to 18, but boys can always attend our public events! 

    Occasionally we hold programming for co-ed groups or boys in our Bold Ink Writers program. Men writers can click here to apply to volunteer and read more about our Bold Ink Writers program.

  • Teens need to be at least 13 years old in order to join WriteGirl.

  • Yes! Most programming is offered online to accommodate teens from all over LA and the world.

  • Yes! Volunteers can now join us from anywhere, all around the globe!

  • Financial support is vital to our work! You can donate online here.

    You can also donate via check made out to Community Partners f/b/o WriteGirl.

    We also accept in-kind donations, and are always in need of blank journals for our teens.

    While we don’t offer adult workshops for the general public, we do provide writing activities at all of our public readings and events.
